Punjab police reported the seizure of three AK‑47 rifle magazines along with 82 cartridges close to the Jaito‑Bathinda bypass in Kotkapura. The ammunition, marked with old manufacturing dates, was discovered during a routine check by local law‑enforcement teams.
Officials said the find has caused a stir within the police department, prompting an immediate forensic examination to determine the origin and possible usage of the weapons. While the exact source remains unclear, investigators noted that the dated markings could indicate a connection to earlier periods of militancy in the region.
