In Shivpur village of Ajmer district, a deep well on a farm claimed the lives of a husband and wife when the wife slipped and fell in while fetching water, and the husband jumped in to rescue her.
In the rural outskirts of Ajmer, a tragic incident unfolded on a farm in Shivpur village when a deep well, used for irrigation, became the site of a fatal accident.
While fetching water, the wife, identified as Heera Devi, slipped on the well’s rim and fell into the dark, narrow shaft. The sudden plunge left her helpless and the well’s depth made immediate rescue difficult.
The husband, upon seeing his wife’s peril, immediately dove into the well in an attempt to pull her out. Unfortunately, both he and his wife were unable to escape and drowned.
Local authorities have begun an investigation into the safety conditions of the well and are calling for better protective measures on farm wells to prevent similar tragedies.
