Air India Express Waives Cargo Fees for NGOs Delivering Flood Relief to Assam

Air India Express has announced that it will waive cargo charges for non‑governmental organisations transporting flood relief supplies to Assam, aiming to expedite aid distribution.

Air India Express has decided to waive all cargo costs for non‑governmental organisations (NGOs) that are shipping relief goods to Assam, a state that has been severely affected by recent floods.
The decision comes after the monsoon season left large parts of the state under water, disrupting transport links and hampering relief efforts.
By eliminating freight charges, the airline hopes to speed up the delivery of essential items such as food, blankets and medical supplies to affected communities.
NGOs operating in the region have welcomed the move, noting that the cost savings will allow them to allocate more resources directly to beneficiaries.
The airline’s spokesperson said the waiver is part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives and will be in effect for all cargo flights to Assam until further notice.
