AIMIM Urges Immediate Appointment of Chairman to Raichur District Waqf Committee
Raichur, September 21: In view of the Raichur District Waqf Committee functioning without a chairman for several months, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Raichur City Unit, submitted a memorandum to Minister U.T. Khader and the District Waqf authorities, urging the immediate appointment of a qualified and capable chairman.
The memorandum was submitted under the leadership of AIMIM Raichur City President Shabbir Ahmed Houdadi.
Raichur district has several mosques, dargahs, Eidgah grounds and other Waqf institutions and properties. AIMIM leaders stated that an active district-level Waqf Committee and chairman are essential for their proper management, protection, development and for addressing public grievances.
They pointed out that the vacant chairman's post has resulted in delays in resolving public issues and taking appropriate action concerning Waqf properties, causing dissatisfaction among the public.
Therefore, in the interest of Waqf institutions and the public, AIMIM urged the authorities to immediately appoint a qualified person as Chairman of the Raichur District Waqf Committee and take necessary steps to ensure the smooth functioning of the committee.
Those present on the occasion included: Shaibaz Khan, City General Secretary; Tanveer Ahmed Khan, City Joint Secretary; Mohammed Alim, Ward No. 29 President; Rahman Sab, General Secretary of Wards No. 28 and 29; and Mohammed Awaiz.
