A group of young dancers from Ahmedabad are set to showcase fresh Garba steps during Navratri, as part of the Varso Garba Workshop Group's preparations.
Varso Garba Workshop Group, based in Ahmedabad, has announced a lineup of new Garba choreography that will be performed during the upcoming Navratri celebrations. The group, which has been training local youths for several months, aims to blend traditional rhythms with contemporary dance elements.
Rehearsals began in early September, with participants practicing at the community hall on Patel Street. According to the workshop coordinator, the new routines are designed to be accessible for dancers of all skill levels, encouraging broader participation in the festival.
The performances are scheduled to take place at the annual Navratri fair in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati area, where the group will join other local troupes in a series of evening shows. The event is expected to attract both residents and tourists looking to experience the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
Varso Garba Workshop Group has previously collaborated with local schools and dance academies, and this year’s program marks its first major public debut. The group hopes the fresh choreography will inspire a new generation of Garba enthusiasts.
Officials say the initiative will also provide a platform for young artists to showcase their talents and promote cultural heritage during one of India’s most celebrated festivals.
