Ahmedabad Crime Branch Cracks Interstate Counterfeit BP Medicine Ring

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch conducted a coordinated operation on Thursday, targeting an interstate racket that supplied counterfeit BP medicines across several states. Police arrested six individuals, including the alleged mastermind, and seized over 10,000 counterfeit tablets. The seized drugs were found to be manufactured in a hidden facility in Rajasthan and distributed through a network of pharmacies in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Officials said the crackdown will deter future drug fraud and protect consumers from harmful fake medicines. The arrested suspects face charges under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
