Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan urges Centre‑states teamwork for food security

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasized that the Union government and individual states must operate as a cohesive unit to guarantee food security across the country. He highlighted that fragmented efforts risk undermining the availability of essential grains and pulses, especially in vulnerable regions. The minister added that a synchronized approach is vital for stabilising prices and ensuring that farmers receive remunerative returns for their produce. By aligning procurement, storage, and distribution mechanisms, the government can create a more resilient supply chain that benefits both consumers and cultivators. Chouhan urged state officials to collaborate closely with central agencies to translate policy intent into tangible outcomes for the farming community.
