The Adani conglomerate announced plans to pour more than ₹1 trillion into West Bengal’s economy by 2035, aiming to boost infrastructure and industry.

Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, said the conglomerate will invest over ₹1 trillion in West Bengal over the next 12 years, focusing on ports, logistics, renewable energy and manufacturing. This commitment was disclosed in a recent press interaction reported by Business Standard.
The pledge aligns with the group’s broader strategy to deepen its presence in eastern India, leveraging the state’s strategic location and the government’s pro‑business policies. West Bengal’s chief minister welcomed the proposal, noting its compatibility with the state’s development agenda.
If fully realised, the infusion would rank among the largest private capital commitments to a single Indian state, potentially creating thousands of jobs and raising the region’s contribution to national GDP. The group has not yet released a detailed timeline for individual projects.
Analysts observe that the scale of the pledge reflects confidence in India’s growth trajectory, while noting that regulatory clearances and land acquisition could influence execution timelines.
