Activists have raised concerns over Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar’s attendance at a pro‑life rally organized by a pro‑life group earlier this week. The rally, which drew a sizeable crowd, was seen by critics as a politically charged event. The Speaker’s presence at the gathering has prompted questions about the neutrality expected of a parliamentary figure.
The Speaker’s office has not yet issued a formal response to the allegations. In the absence of an official statement, the incident has sparked debate among lawmakers and the public about the role of elected officials in political rallies.
Observers argue that participation in such events could compromise the perceived impartiality of the Speaker’s office. The controversy highlights the delicate balance between personal beliefs and official duties for public servants.
