ABVP activists try to breach Indore Collector's office gate while submitting college facility demands

ABVP-linked students handed a memorandum demanding basic amenities in colleges and attempted to force open the gate of the Indore Collector's office; security was tightened thereafter.
Indore, Madhya Pradesh – On the day of the protest, a group of students associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) entered the premises of the Collector's office and tried to break the main gate after submitting a memorandum. The memorandum listed more than ten fundamental demands concerning college infrastructure, including the provision of safe drinking water, functional toilets, a well‑stocked library and adequate security measures.
The activists reportedly used barricades to force their way into the building, prompting a swift response from the office's security personnel. Following the incident, authorities reinforced security across the entire campus surrounding the Collector's office to prevent any further breaches.
The move underscores growing student agitation over basic amenities in higher‑education institutions in the region, with ABVP positioning itself as a representative voice for the aggrieved student body.
No injuries were reported, and the memorandum was formally handed over to the Collector for consideration.
