Global brewer AB InBev announced a Rs 200 crore investment to expand its brewing capacity in Rajasthan, citing a surge in beer consumption outside metropolitan areas.

AB InBev, the world’s largest beer producer, said it will inject Rs 200 crore into a new brewing facility in Rajasthan. The investment is aimed at tapping the growing demand for beer in tier‑2 and tier‑3 cities across the state and beyond.

The funding will finance the construction of a modern plant equipped with high‑efficiency lines, creating jobs and strengthening local supply chains. Company officials pointed to recent market surveys that show consumption shifting from metros to smaller towns, prompting the expansion.

Rajasthan’s government welcomed the project, noting its potential to attract further foreign direct investment and boost the state’s industrial growth. The brewery is slated to become operational within the next 18‑24 months.
