Global brewer AB InBev has set aside $30 million to cover outstanding dues to the Telangana government, citing cash‑flow strain caused by delayed payments to local brewers.
AB InBev, the world’s largest beer producer, announced a financial provision of $30 million to settle unpaid dues owed to the state of Telangana. The disclosure was made in a filing with Indian regulators.
The company said the provision reflects the impact of delayed payments from distributors and retailers in the region, which have tightened cash flow for brewers operating in the southern state.
Telangana officials have previously highlighted the issue of overdue payments to manufacturers, urging faster clearance to support the state’s beverage sector. AB InBev’s allocation aims to ensure compliance while it works with local partners to normalise payment cycles.
Analysts note that such provisions are common when large multinational firms face liquidity pressures in regional markets, but the amount underscores the scale of the outstanding liabilities.
