Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch has detained AAP politician Satyendra Jain and five others over alleged manipulation of a sewage‑treatment plant tender.
Delhi's Anti-Corruption Branch arrested AAP leader Satyendra Jain on suspicion of tampering with the tender process for a sewage‑treatment plant of the Delhi Jal Board. The investigation alleges that tender specifications were altered to favour a particular company, resulting in undue financial benefit.
Along with Jain, six individuals including former Delhi Jal Board CEO Udit Prakash Rai were taken into custody. Police say the accused coordinated the changes in the tender documents and facilitated the award of the contract to the favored firm.
Authorities have not disclosed the exact monetary value of the alleged loss, but the case is being treated as a serious breach of public procurement rules. The anti‑corruption officials have filed a charge sheet and the matter will now proceed to court for further adjudication.
