A 9‑kilometre segment of the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway has been opened to vehicles, marking the first operational link on the corridor.

The Times of India reported that a 9‑kilometre stretch of the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway has been opened for public traffic. The newly operational link connects two points along the 1,350‑kilometre corridor that will eventually join the national capital with the financial hub of Mumbai.

The opening provides an early boost to the overall project, allowing vehicles to experience smoother travel on a high‑speed, limited‑access road. Officials expect the segment to cut travel time for commuters and freight operators in the region.

Construction of the expressway is proceeding in phases, with additional sections slated for completion in the coming months. Once fully operational, the highway is projected to enhance logistics efficiency and stimulate economic activity across the states it traverses.

Stakeholders anticipate that the improved connectivity will attract investment in industrial corridors and support the government's broader push for faster, safer road transport across the country.
