Eighty‑four members of the Border Security Force were admitted to a Manipur hospital after experiencing symptoms of food poisoning, officials said.

Manipur health authorities confirmed that 84 Border Security Force personnel were taken to a local hospital on Thursday after several of them reported nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Preliminary investigations point to food poisoning as the likely cause, though a definitive source of the contamination has not yet been identified.
The affected soldiers were part of a BSF unit stationed in the state, and were reportedly eating a common meal when the symptoms began. Medical staff have administered supportive treatment and are monitoring the patients for any complications.
The BSF command has issued a statement expressing concern for the welfare of its personnel and assuring that a thorough inquiry will be conducted to prevent a recurrence. No fatalities have been reported so far.
Local officials are coordinating with the BSF to trace the food supply chain and to implement stricter hygiene protocols in military canteens across the region.
