The Union government informed the Lok Sabha that more than two‑thirds of rural households in Jammu now have access to piped water.

The Union government presented data to the Lok Sabha indicating that 66.5% of rural households in Jammu now have tap water.

This figure reflects progress under the government's rural water supply schemes, including the National Rural Drinking Water Programme.

The minister highlighted that the remaining 33.5% still lack piped water and that efforts will continue to reach all households by 2025.

The announcement comes amid ongoing discussions on improving rural infrastructure and ensuring equitable access to basic utilities across Jammu and Kashmir.
