Chandigarh authorities received 61,000 complaints over traffic issues, yet road flow remains efficient, though public frustration is evident.

On Monday, the Chandigarh Traffic Police logged 61,000 complaints related to congestion and signal delays, the highest count in the city’s recent history. Despite the volume of grievances, traffic monitoring data shows that average vehicle speed on major arteries remained within acceptable limits. However, several residents reported heightened frustration, with some staging small demonstrations at key junctions. In response, the municipal corporation announced a review of signal timings and plans to deploy additional traffic wardens to ease bottlenecks.
