The Indian Railways announced that on September 26, a total of 51 trains bound for Bihar were cancelled while 47 others were diverted because of ongoing construction of a new railway bridge at Mokama, Bihar. The work, aimed at strengthening the rail corridor over the Ganga, required temporary suspension of regular services through the junction.
Railway officials said the cancellations affect both long‑distance and intercity services, and passengers have been urged to book alternative trains or use nearby stations such as Patna and Kiul. Temporary shuttle services and additional coaches on unaffected routes are being arranged to mitigate inconvenience.
