47-Year-Old Narmada Award Payment Dispute Resolved Between Four States

Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh have signed a one-time settlement agreement to end a decades-old payment dispute related to the Narmada Award, in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

A significant inter-state dispute concerning payments related to the Narmada Award has been amicably resolved after 47 years. The agreement was signed by representatives from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was present during the signing of the one-time settlement, marking a crucial step towards resolving the long-standing financial disagreement. The resolution is expected to foster better cooperation between the participating states on shared water resources and related projects.
