Since 2023, the government has approved more than 4.1 lakh applications for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vahini Yojana in Jammu and Kashmir. However, 3,534 beneficiaries are still waiting for their payments because of Aadhaar authentication issues.

Since 2023, the government has approved more than 4.1 lakh applications for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vahini Yojana in Jammu and Kashmir. The scheme, aimed at providing maternity benefits, has seen a significant uptake among expectant mothers in the region.

However, 3,534 beneficiaries are still awaiting their payments. The delay is attributed to complications in linking the beneficiaries' Aadhaar numbers with the payment system.

Officials have highlighted that the Aadhaar authentication process is causing bottlenecks, preventing the release of funds to the rightful recipients. The government has urged the concerned departments to expedite the verification to ensure timely disbursement.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has pledged to resolve the issue and has set up a task force to address the pending payments. Beneficiaries are advised to verify their Aadhaar linkage and contact local offices for assistance.
