An HRTC bus slipped off the road and fell onto a hillside in Kullu district, leaving 40 passengers injured and being rushed to nearby hospitals.

A Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus lost control and plunged onto a hillside in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, injuring 40 passengers. Rescue teams arrived promptly, extricating the victims from the wreckage and transporting them to local medical facilities for treatment. The injured include men, women and children, all of whom were reported to be in stable condition, according to officials. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the mishap and have temporarily suspended the bus service on the affected route pending safety checks. The incident underscores the challenges of navigating steep mountain roads during adverse conditions.

Local police and emergency services are coordinating to clear the accident site and restore traffic flow. Families of the injured have been informed, and the HRTC has pledged assistance for those requiring further medical care. No fatalities have been reported so far.

The Kullu district administration has urged commuters to exercise caution while traveling on hilly terrains and to adhere to speed limits, especially during monsoon periods when road conditions can deteriorate rapidly.
