The health department has recorded 33 swine flu infections in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh over the past six months.

The Himachal Pradesh health department confirmed that a total of 33 individuals in Kangra district tested positive for H1N1, commonly known as swine flu, during the last six months. The tally reflects a gradual increase compared with earlier periods, prompting local health officials to intensify surveillance.

Medical authorities have urged residents to seek immediate medical attention if they experience fever, cough, sore throat or breathing difficulties, symptoms commonly associated with the virus. Early diagnosis and antiviral treatment are emphasized to reduce complications.

The department reiterated standard preventive measures, including regular hand washing, avoiding close contact with infected persons, and getting the seasonal flu vaccine where available. Health workers continue to conduct awareness campaigns across villages and towns in Kangra to curb further spread.
