3 lakh+ students enroll on Bihar Vidya Sathi app, 73% from rural areas, says Education Minister

The state’s Vidya Sathi digital platform has crossed three lakh registrations, with nearly three‑quarters of users hailing from rural districts, Education Minister Dharmendra Prasad announced.
Education Minister Dharmendra Prasad said the Bihar Vidya Sathi mobile application, launched to provide free educational resources, has now attracted over 300,000 student registrations.
Data released by the education department shows that 73 per cent of the users come from villages and small towns, highlighting the app’s reach in remote areas where conventional schooling resources are limited.
The platform offers video lessons, practice tests and interactive quizzes aligned with the state curriculum for classes 1‑12, and officials plan to add more content in regional languages to further boost adoption.
Officials noted that the surge in enrolment coincides with the recent rollout of broadband connectivity under the Bihar Digital Initiative, helping to narrow the digital divide.
The department will track usage patterns and aims to introduce teacher‑training modules within the app later this year.
