A 29-year-old man died after being shot in Chandigarh’s Sector-17 on Saturday evening, with authorities treating the case as either homicide or suicide and launching an investigation.
A 29‑year‑old male was found dead after sustaining a gunshot wound in the commercial hub of Sector‑17, Chandigarh, on Saturday evening. Local witnesses reported hearing a single shot around dusk, after which the victim collapsed and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police officials arrived at the scene shortly thereafter and sealed the area. Senior Superintendent of Police (Crime) Amit Sharma said the investigation is ongoing and that the incident is being examined as either a possible homicide or a suicide, pending forensic results.
Authorities have appealed to the public for any information, including CCTV footage or eyewitness accounts, that could clarify the circumstances leading to the shooting. The case remains under active investigation.
