A 22‑year‑old woman was drugged and raped in Bhopal’s Kolar locality; police have detained the alleged perpetrator.
A 22‑year‑old woman was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted in the Kolar neighbourhood of Bhopal. The victim reported the crime to local authorities after regaining consciousness.
Bhopal Crime Branch officers arrived, secured the scene, collected forensic samples and filed a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Within hours they identified a suspect and placed him in custody.
The detained individual is undergoing interrogation as the investigation proceeds. Police have appealed to the public for any witnesses or information that could assist in building the case.
