22 dead as floods batter Bihar in 24 hours

Severe floods have swept across parts of Bihar, resulting in the deaths of 22 people within a 24‑hour period, officials said. The rising water levels forced residents to evacuate their homes as the inundation spread rapidly through low‑lying areas. Local authorities have mobilised rescue teams and relief measures to assist those affected and to prevent further loss of life. The death toll, confirmed by the state disaster management unit, underscores the intensity of the monsoon downpour that triggered the flooding. Efforts continue to provide shelter and basic supplies to displaced families while the situation is monitored closely.
