21 State Assemblies Go Digital Under NeVA Project

India has upgraded 21 state legislative assemblies to digital platforms as part of the NeVA initiative, streamlining legislative processes and enhancing transparency.

India’s National e-Voice Application (NeVA) project has successfully transitioned 21 state legislative assemblies into fully digital legislatures, marking a significant step in modernizing the country’s parliamentary procedures.

The initiative, aimed at improving efficiency and accessibility, replaced traditional paper‑based systems with electronic platforms that allow lawmakers to draft, debate, and vote on bills online. This digital shift is expected to reduce delays and increase transparency in legislative affairs.

Officials highlighted that the transition will also facilitate better record‑keeping and public access to assembly proceedings, aligning with broader government efforts to promote e‑governance across the nation.
