Police discovered the body of 18-year-old Putil Kumari hanging from a banyan tree outside Mansha village, Gaya. Relatives allege she was murdered, prompting a criminal investigation.

Police in Gaya district recovered the corpse of 18-year-old Putil Kumari, a newly married resident of Mansha village, on a banyan tree located on the outskirts of the settlement. The young woman was found hanging, and the circumstances surrounding her death are being described as suspicious.

Family members have immediately alleged that the death was not a suicide but a homicide, demanding a thorough probe. They contend that the manner in which the body was discovered points to foul play rather than self‑inflicted harm.

The Muafsil police station has opened a criminal case, dispatching investigators to collect forensic evidence, interview witnesses and examine the scene. Officials have not ruled out any possibility yet, pending the results of the autopsy and further inquiry.

Local authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the investigation and have promised to keep the community informed as the case develops.
