Eighteen officers of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Service have been included in the Indian Administrative Service promotion lists for the 2019 and 2020 batches, as reported by Daily Excelsior.

The Department of Personnel and Training released the latest IAS promotion lists, confirming that 18 officers from the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Service (JKCS) have qualified for elevation to the Indian Administrative Service. The promotions pertain to the 2019 and 2020 batches, reflecting the state government's effort to integrate its civil service cadre with the all‑India service.

According to the official notification, the selected officers have met the requisite seniority, performance appraisal and examination criteria set by the central government. Their names have been published in the Daily Excelsior, a leading newspaper in the region, providing public verification of the appointments.

The promotion is expected to enhance administrative coordination between the state and central governments, as the newly inducted IAS officers will assume roles in district administration, policy implementation and development projects across Jammu and Kashmir.

State authorities have welcomed the move, stating that it rewards merit and encourages younger officers to aspire for higher responsibilities. The promoted officers are slated to undergo the standard IAS induction programme before taking charge of their new assignments.
