The Rajasthan government will credit the 44‑day orientation (July 6‑August 18) to the service tenure of 1,644 senior teacher recruits, with July 6 treated as their first appointment date.
The state’s 2024 senior teacher recruitment drive has finalized 1,644 candidates for appointment. These selections, announced earlier this year, were awaiting clarification on how the mandatory orientation period would affect their service records.
The government has now confirmed that the 44‑day orientation programme, scheduled from 6 July to 18 August, will be counted as part of the teachers’ official service tenure. Consequently, the first appointment date for all selected candidates will be back‑dated to 6 July.
By treating the orientation as service time, the teachers become eligible for pay, leave and pension calculations from that date, providing immediate financial relief and certainty about their career progression.
