Emergency services were called immediately, and his brother administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on site.
Paramedics transported the teenager to a nearby hospital, where doctors attempted advanced life‑support measures. Despite these efforts, the medical team declared Kanisk dead shortly after his arrival.
