15-year-old boy found dead after drowning in Kotma's Kevai River

A 15-year-old boy who went missing while bathing in the Kevai River at Kotma was recovered dead after a 13‑hour rescue operation. Police have taken the body for post‑mortem examination.
Kotma, Madhya Pradesh – On Saturday evening, 15‑year‑old Abhishek Patskar went missing while bathing in the Kevai River. Search and rescue teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police launched an operation that continued through the night.
The coordinated effort lasted until around 12:30 am, after which the teams withdrew when the river’s currents made further search unsafe. Early the next morning, at approximately 6:10 am, rescuers recovered the teenager’s body from the water.
Following the recovery, police officials performed a formal identification and prepared a death register. The body has been handed over to the forensic department for a post‑mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution while entering rivers, especially during the monsoon season, and to avoid swimming without proper safety measures.
