Clashes at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar left 15 police officers injured and resulted in the detention of 110 protesters, officials said.

Delhi police reported a violent confrontation at the Jantar Mantar public park on Saturday, during which fifteen constables sustained injuries ranging from bruises to minor fractures. The police said the clash erupted after a large gathering of demonstrators attempted to breach the security cordon around the historic site.

Law enforcement units deployed tear‑gas shells and batons to disperse the crowd, leading to the arrest of 110 individuals identified as participants in the protest. Those detained are being held for questioning on charges of unlawful assembly and obstruction of public order.

The incident has prompted a statement from the Delhi Police Commissioner, who affirmed that the force acted to prevent further escalation and restore peace at the landmark. No civilian fatalities were reported, and medical teams attended to the injured officers at the scene.

Authorities have not disclosed the specific grievances of the protesters, but the police indicated that the gathering was unrelated to any scheduled political rally. The situation remains under investigation, and the detainees are expected to appear before a magistrate within the next 48 hours.
