The central government has approved a ₹13,427‑crore fund to build 11.19 lakh pucca houses in Bihar, aiming to improve living standards for poor families.
Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the approval of a massive housing allocation for Bihar, noting that the scheme will provide dignified living spaces for millions of low‑income families.
The plan authorises a total outlay of ₹13,427 crore to construct 11.19 lakh pucca houses across the state, marking one of the largest single‑state housing initiatives in recent years.
Officials expect the new homes to be completed in phases over the next few years, with priority given to families currently living in inadequate or temporary shelters, thereby enhancing health, safety and social welfare.
The allocation reflects the central government's continued focus on affordable housing as a pillar of inclusive development, and state authorities have been directed to begin implementation promptly.
