12‑ft Gharial Rescued After 5‑Month Hunt, Sent to Chhatbir Zoo

A 12‑foot gharial was found in Rajasthan after a five‑month hunt and was rescued by wildlife officials. The reptile, one of the largest gharials in the region, was carefully captured and transported to Chhatbir Zoo in Haryana. Veterinary staff at the zoo are providing medical care and monitoring the animal’s health. Once the gharial recovers, authorities plan to release it back into its natural habitat.
