Authorities in Odisha have rejected the OBC caste certificates of twelve candidates, disqualifying them from attending the scheduled recruitment interviews for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

Recent verification by the Odisha education authorities resulted in the rejection of OBC caste certificates submitted by twelve aspirants seeking positions under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) recruitment drive. The certificates were deemed non‑compliant with the prescribed criteria, prompting officials to bar the candidates from the upcoming interview rounds.

The KVS‑NVS recruitment process, which annually attracts thousands of applicants, requires candidates belonging to reserved categories to furnish valid caste certificates. In this instance, the rejected documents failed to satisfy the verification standards set by the state’s verification cell, leading to immediate disqualification.

As a consequence, the twelve candidates will not be allowed to appear for the scheduled interviews, and they may have to appeal the decision or submit corrected documentation, if permissible under the recruitment guidelines. The episode underscores the stringent scrutiny applied to reservation documents in public sector hiring.
