A 10-year-old student riding a scooter was struck by an uncontrolled truck in Chakia, East Champaran, killing him and injuring his two sisters. Villagers protested by burning tires on the main road, halting traffic for about ninety minutes.

An uncontrolled truck rammed into a scooter carrying a 10-year-old schoolboy in the village of Chakia, located in East Champaran district of Bihar. The collision proved fatal for the child, while his two sisters riding with him sustained injuries and were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Local residents, outraged by the incident, gathered at the Chakia‑Khesriya main road and set several vehicle tires ablaze. The makeshift roadblock disrupted traffic for roughly one and a half hours, drawing attention to the lack of road safety measures in the area.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after the protest began, securing the site and beginning an inquiry into the truck's condition and driver accountability. Medical teams attended to the injured sisters, and the deceased boy was handed over to his family for last rites.

Authorities have warned that any further obstruction of traffic will be dealt with strictly, while also urging the transport department to review the enforcement of speed limits and vehicle maintenance on rural highways.
